Services — Servicing of ECP systems Photogallery

ECP systems operation

To provide continuous work of ECP systems and control of pipeline electrical potential, the systems should be well served and examined by qualified personnel.

For stations that are not equipped with remote control systems, the following services are performed:

  • Tests for equipment serviceableness
  • Preventive servicing and elimination of possible malfunctions
  • Carrying out of electrical measurements operations

The tests are performed twice a month in accordance with RD 39-132-94.

For all stations they perform tests for efficiency that include:

  • Definition of the range of performance for each separate station within the system
  • Measurement of anodic and protective earth leads and checking of electrical drainage cable insulation;
  • Definition of soil corrosive activity
  • Definition of harmful currents
  • Adjustment (tuning) of all protection stations of the system at pipeline to provide efficient operation and decrease operating expense.
  • The complete check report is made and recommendations for defects elimination are provided. Such works are performed every 6 months.

According to the operating conditions and corrosive properties of the soil, complex examination of the ECP facilities and pipeline insulation condition is performed every 3-10 years.
